On Friday, January 15 we finally did it: we broke ground on Phase 1 of the Cancer Care Institute! This medical oncology clinic will be the first of its kind in the northern healthcare zone of Tanzania.
It’s thanks to the incredibly generous backing of supporters like you that we were able to reach this milestone. We wanted to share some pictures of the groundbreaking ceremony with you!
Dr. Mark Jacobson, director of Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre and FCCT board member, was present at the ceremony. He said it was “a lovely service of blessing and celebration led by the Bishop.”
We’re excited to continue sharing updates with you as construction progresses. We’re hoping the best update of all comes in June–that we’re finally treating women and children with cancer thanks to you!
Asante sana, friends!
