Thank you to everyone who joined us on July 11 to tackle Eagle Mountain, the highest point in Minnesota.
Granted, it wasn’t exactly Kilimanjaro. But it was a part of something big that’s happening in northern Tanzania, where Kilimanjaro resides—a movement to improve cancer care in a region where people with cancer currently have few options.
Thanks to your help, we’re one step closer to building the Cancer Care Institute. In September we’ll break ground on this dedicated pediatric medical oncology clinic, which will offer chemotherapy to northern Tanzanians for the first time. We’ll also begin implementing measures for prevention and early detection of common cancers and improving palliative care for patients at the end of their lives. None of this could happen without the support of our community.
On our hike up Eagle Mountain, we carried a set of prayer flags, many of them bearing the names of friends and family members who are battling cancer. Some live in the Twin Cities, others in Tanzania. All share the same right to high-quality care. That’s a right we firmly believe in, and one you’re helping us to defend.
For that, we quite simply can’t thank all of you enough.
A special thank you to our sponsors & partners:
